There’s a bridge that joins two sides
Don’t be hesitant to cross
When I am I look into the dark
And
Take one step at a time
There’s a bridge to your heart
That splits
But you’re whole
Believe it you are
Don’t be afraid of heights
Or vertical horizons
Or horizontal hopes
That seem to go on and on
There’s a bridge and you’re walking
One foot at a time
Before you know it
Beaming with joy
There’s a bridge that’s not needed
Two sides become one
You
Lost
You can knock on wood in a dark forest of dreams
But there’s not always a right answer
Or secrets hidden in trees
You are your pathway
You are your guiding light
Keep wandering
And you’ll be free
Dreams can be the fabric of what holds you together
Or the thread that when pulled
Makes you fall apart
Stitched days become weeks
Tired and weak
You wait for quilted warmth
None of us learned how to sew
Haystack needle
We put it there
Finding ourselves along the way
The lies we tell ourselves
To get through the day
Pale in comparison to the crime
Of kicking the can of our dreams down the road
You lose things
With loose strings
So I’m always tied up
With this and that
Not knowing
Or knot knowing
Cutting holes
To breathe
At the end of my rope
I’m tired and untied
Hands in the air
Unwoven because I’ve tried
You lose things
With loose strings
Untangling it all
Of course I care
